Kansas  School  Superintendents

Distinguished Service Award

2019 KSSA Distinguish Service Awarded to Sue Givens of El Dorado

Each year, the Kansas School Superintendents' Association recognizes the outstanding contributions of one member to the organization and to the education profession. Kansas is blessed with outstanding superintendents who support public education and KSSA; only a few superintendents have maintained the same drive, leadership, and voice as this year’s honoree.

During her administrative career, Sue Givens has served in a leadership role for multiple professional organizations, president for KSSA, president and secretary-treasurer for Kansas Association of Middle School Administrators, president for USA-Kansas, and chair for the Kansas Learning First Alliance. Givens has been a vocal advocated for administrators, schools, teachers, and most of Kansas students during her years as an educator. Givens announced earlier this school year that she plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2018-2019 school year. We would like to congratulate Sue Givens, the 2019 KSSA Distinguished Service Award recipient and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
